Gala Games and C² Ventures have launched a $ 100 million fund to accelerate the development of blockchain games.

The foundation represents an alliance between Festive games, A blockchain gaming company led by Zynga co-founder Eric Schiermeier, and a new crypto-investment fun led by Ciara Sun, a former Huobi blockchain investment chief.

The fund comes after a stormy Galaverse event this weekend in Las Vegas where Gala Games announced game deals with Will Wright, Peter Molino, Ember Games, AMC and Certain Affinity. This is another sign of excitement around non-performing tokens (NFTs), which represent a new way to monetize games by verifying unique digital items.

The mutual fund will invest in game developers and evolving projects built using blockchain technology, including but not limited to play-to-earn, GameFi, metaverses and other distributed game solutions.

“As an industry, blockchain games need a clear and concise way as a whole to be accessible to a huge audience,” said James Olden, VP of Strategy at Gala Games, in a statement. Developers who can build truly entertaining games powered by blockchain technology for millions. “

In addition to funding, portfolio projects will receive guidance, including NFT and pre-sale strategies, token design, game economies, marketing and community engagement, monetization and distribution support, and P2E economics and development, from Gala Games and C² Ventures teams.

“While I was at Huobi, I learned the small details of working with evolving projects and bringing new and innovative projects to market,” Sun said in a statement. “With Gala Games by our side as a trusted collaborator, we look forward to finding and nurturing Blockchain’s next major gaming projects and helping them build communities around the world.”

Gala Games recently selected Huobi Global as its preferred exchange partner. Huobi Global will provide its expertise, advise on festive projects on marketing, community building and other core components of Web 3 growth, and will work closely with teams to optimize future token listings. Gala Games recorded its gala token at Huobi Global in November 2021. Web 3 is a term that describes the distributed Internet, built on a blockchain, the secure and transparent digital ledger.

Gala Games and C² Ventures are betting on overgrowth around games and cryptocurrencies. Newzoo predicts global gaming revenue will reach $ 200 billion by 2024. And companies are betting that the blockchain will enable new games where players can hold the items they buy.

Schiermeyer, the co-founder of Zynga, started Gala Games in 2019. The company has piqued the interest of crypto game lovers and crypto investors. And she held her event in Las Vegas to show that she has the partnerships to build high-quality games on the blockchain.

Over the weekend, Gala Games hosted 22Cans founder Peter Molyneux, creator of games like Black & White and Fable, while unveiling his latest blockchain game, Legacy, which will debut in 2022.

“I was working on Legacy and it was during an extraordinary conversation with old friend Mike McCarthy (who worked at the gala) when there was a moment of Nora,” Molino said of the decision to launch Legacy as a blockchain title. “We realized I developed a perfect game for crypto games. Every Belgasi mechanic was tailor-made for the blockchain environment.”

Legacy is a blockchain game that allows players to build an empire through the power of their creativity, the superiority of their commercial ability and the strength of their competitive character.

Gala Games has also signed an agreement with Will Wright, creator of The Sims, and his team at Gallium Studios. They will assist in the development of the VOX metaverse blockchain and the gaming world of Gala Games. Wright’s Sims, published by Electronic Arts, has sold more than 200 million copies.

Gala Games launched the Mirandus VOX Collection of NFT game items on December 6th. It ran out immediately. The VOX NFTs from Gala Labs are collectibles with real tools to play to win in Gala Labs: Town Star and soon Mirandus games.

“Gala’s success has shown that there is a bright future in blockchain games,” Wright said in a statement. “I was offered a blank canvas to help give VOX’s collectibles their own home and create a world that excites current players and hopefully attracts new ones to this metaphor. It’s also exciting to build games for the next generation of players.”

Gala Games also said it has partnered with AMC and Ember Entertainment to create an online cross-platform multiplayer survival game, The Walking Dead: Empires.

Gala Games also revealed the mechanics of Play-to-Earn in Spider Tanks, a game of esports. The game uses NFT and allows players to purchase and then resell digital items in a way that helps them make a living. Spider tanks will first appear in the first quarter.

Finally, Certain Affinity and Gala Games teamed up to create Last Expedition, a first-person shooter based on the blockchain.

Certain Affinity was founded by Max Huberman, a veteran of Halo 2 and Halo 3.

“Blockchain is an interesting idea, but I have not seen anyone really push the envelope in terms of what technology is capable of supporting,” Huberman said in a statement. “It’s exciting to collaborate with Gala Games as we share a vision to create something never seen before and set a standard in blockchain games that will be difficult for others to match.”

Certain Affinity has been working on a recent expedition for several years as a passion project. “We were so busy with our other work that we were unable to give it the attention it deserved,” Huberman said. “But we ‘found the fun’ in it a long time ago, and as the demo shows, it’s still an amazing experience. The gala team got it right away. A dedicated development team that will bring it to the rest of the world, and in a groundbreaking way. “
